** updates are in blue text - last update Saturday 30th September **

Sunday 3rd September - Father's Day in Australia

Had a nice day - woke up and had wee Holly coming in to give me my presents and helping me opening up the wrapping and ripping it all to pieces! A nice start to the day....

Later we went a run up to Terrigal, where there is a lovely wee beach and coastal town, where we had lunch and had a walk round to the big waves that were splashing in around the sandstone cove, and had lots of laughs with Holly running away and giggling at the big splashes coming in and almost soaking us!

Monday 4th

Got a nice "Haggis" postcard from Alan & Lorna all the way from Blair Atholl - which was nice. Its funny, the house around the corner is called that.... everywhere you go there is plenty of heritage and associations with back home.

Tuesday 5th

Sorry there has been no updates of late....been really busy at work... just came home tonight at 9pm, and that was getting the 7am ferry this morning, so there's not much time for anything else!

Everything okay at work.....apart from the workload!....

The good news is we have found a house we like (hoorah!), and have had our offer accepted etc, and have signed all the paperwork....so its all officially hours.

Its a 4 bed, 2.5 bathroom, detached house, garage, pool round the back, and it backs onto a national park / reserve, so that should stop anyone building behind us with a bit of luck! Its got a bus at the end of the street, but still might need to get a wee car or a moped to nip to the local train station or down the catch the same ferry as usual, as its going to be hard to go back to the bus!

Due to move in mid October.  "Just" need to sort out all the bank and legal stuff, sort out the removers and plan all the comings and goings in the days before and after the move, any decorating prior to moving in, and getting extra furniture for the bedrooms, and some outdoor furniture and a new BBQ - got to get your priorities straight!

Team and cake has just arrived, so time to go and feed the monster!

Wednesday 13th

Found a picture of the pool (see above)... need to get a good one of the front of the house.... I took a picture the other day when we were up at the house to talk to the current owners about a few things, and I took a good picture on my camera, so just need to get it from the camera to this machine...

Talking to my Mum and Dad today about where Davidson was, so thought it might be an idea to stick in a map of where it is in relation to where we are now in Manly etc. Its about 12km from where we are now to the new house. If we drive directly East, its probably about 15 mins from Dee Why beach, which is where we used to go for our Fish -n- Chips by the sea side when we first got here in late Summer.

Saturday 23rd

Jean and Bob kindly watched Holly whilst Sheryl and I went out on a whale-watching cruise for a few hours. It was amazing to see the big tails flip up as the big Humpback whales get ready to dive down for yet another 10 minutes ! whilst you wait for another one to pop up and spray through its blow-hole. We also saw plenty of dolphins who like to chase alongside in front, alongside and behind the boat. As Wallace and Gromit would say "A Grand Day Out"!

Sunday 24th - Bridgeclimb @ night!

We all went into Sydney and had a barbeque at Philips Foote restaurant, and then Bob and I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge at night time. It was amazing to be 135 metres or so above sea level, whilst looking out across the whole of Sydney, all lit up for miles around. The flags on the top are apparently 5 metres x 10 metres and need changed every 2 -3 months - its true...you learn something new, albeit boring, every day!

....in the meantime, look what popped in to say hello ! Our local neighbourhood Huntsman spider.

Time to go get my homemade spider catapult ( half a bottle of Pepsi taped to a stick!) - don't like to kill the wee critters, but sure ain't going to sleep whilst one is in the house, so its gotta go oot the windae! Its probably the same one I keep chucking out..... it probably hates me....just as it manages to climb the 5 floors... I capture it and throw it back out again.....!

Saturday 30th

Sheryl's Mum and Dad went home today :-( Drove them over to the airport in the afternoon, whilst the estate agent was showing people round the flat to see if they can get another tenant. They are flying back via Singapore and then Heathrow. Won't be too long till they are back over again, which will be nice.
